Anant Raj’s Ambitious $1.2 Billion Investment in India’s Data Center Industry
Indian real estate development firm Anant Raj is making a strategic pivot into the data center industry with ambitious plans to invest Rs 10,000 crore (approximately $1.2 billion) to create a substantial 300MW data center footprint in India. To oversee this transformative move, Anant Raj has established a subsidiary named Anant Raj Cloud Pvt. Ltd. dedicated to managing its data center operations.
According to Data Center Dynamics, the company’s initial focus will be on retrofitting existing technology buildings into state-of-the-art data centers. Notably, the Manesar site already boasts 3MW in operational capacity, with an additional 3MW set to come online soon. The Manesar Tech Park, sprawling over 11 acres, holds immense potential, with a planned total capacity of 50MW, spread across 450,000 square feet on two floors.
Amit Sarin, Managing Director of Anant Raj, highlighted their readiness to accommodate substantial data center capacity across multiple locations, with Rai having the potential for a 200MW data center and Panchkula capable of supporting a 50MW data center.
